United Removes Star Alliance Partner Award Chart
United delivered bad news early yesterday as it capped the maximum partner PQPs that you can earn per flight. But United wasn’t done. Soon after more bad news came. Now the Star Alliance award chart is gone the airline’s website.
United got rid of its own award charts on November 15th last year. Back then, the airline hinted that partner awards would not be affected. Bot now the partner award chart is gone, which means dynamic pricing will kick in soon. This is what United told TPG:
“We announced in April of last year that all award pricing will be dynamic beginning November 2019. This change is consistent with other major carriers and allows us to align information regarding all MileagePlus award flights, whether it is for travel on United or one of our partner airlines.”
Conclusion
Another big negative change from United, without any advance notice at all. Within a day the airline removed the easiest option of earning status and now switched to dynamic pricing for partner flights. Add the terrible timing to all that.
