US Bank is offering a new bonus that can earn you as much as $500. This bonus is available nationwide and you can open the account online. It requires new checking and savings accounts in order to get the full amount. Let’s check the details.

The offer comes in two parts:
- Earn up to a $400 bonus when you open a new checking account with eStatements by December 18, 2020.
- Receive recurring direct deposits at twice within 60 days of account opening. Bonus varies on total amount of direct deposits:
- $1,000-$1,999.99 to earn $100;
- $2,000-$4,999.99 to earn $200;
- $4,000 or more to earn $400 (could be a typo, maybe $5,000)

Key Terms
- Bonus will be reported as interest earned on IRS form 1099-INT and recipient is responsible for any applicable taxes.

Conclusion
A great bonus that is now even better than in the past. You can open the accounts online and it is available nationwide. To get the bonus you can open an Easy Checking account that is easy to keep fee-free. You do need two direct deposits that total $4,000 or more (maybe $5,000) to get the maximum bonus. But ACH transfers should work in most cases from banks such as Chase, Capital One, Discover, Ally and others.
