US Bank Checking and Savings, Up to $1,000 Bonus

US Bank has launched a promotion with a $1,000 bonus for opening a new checking and savings account. You get $500 for the checking account, $400 for the savings account, and an extra $100 for doing both offers.

There’s a direct deposit requirement for the checking bonus and a $50K balance requirement for the savings account. Let’s see the details.

The Offer

Open your checking account online, in a branch or over the phone by October 31 and complete the following requirements:

  1. Enroll in the U.S. Bank Mobile App or online banking.
  2. Complete two or more direct deposits. Your bonus is determined by the total amount of your direct deposits:
    • Earn $300 when your direct deposits total $5,000 to $9,999.99.
    • Earn $500 when your direct deposits total $10,000 or more.

Open your savings account online, in a branch or over the phone and complete the following requirements:

  • Earn $200:
    • Deposit at least $25,000 in new money by November 30, 2023.
    • Maintain a minimum total account balance of $25,000 to $49,999.99 until March 31, 2024.
  • Earn $400:
    • Deposit at least $50,000 in new money by November 30, 2023.
    • Maintain a minimum total account balance of $50,000 or more until March 31, 2024.

Earn an additional $100 bonus when you apply and meet all requirements for both the U.S. Bank Smartly Checking bonus and the U.S. Bank Standard Savings bonus.

Use the Apply buttons in the promotion page to automatically apply promo code. If you apply for your checking or savings account from a different page, you’ll need to manually enter this promo code to both account applications: 2023SEP.

Key Terms

  • Must be in a state where they have physical branches. You can also qualify if you have an existing relationship with US Bank.
  • Offer is not valid if you or any signer on the account has an existing U.S. Bank consumer checking account, had a U.S. Bank consumer checking account in the last two year(s), or received other U.S. Bank bonus offers within the past two year(s).

Conclusion

A $1,000 bonus is normally a great offer when it come to bank offers. But this works out more like a $500 checking bonus since the requirements for the savings account are absurd. That is still one of the best checking bonuses we have seen from US Bank.

You need to complete $10,000 in direct deposits to earn the $500 checking bonus. The savings bonus on the other hand requires a deposit $50,000 and you must maintain that balance for about six months to get an extra $500.
