World of Hyatt & Exhale Partnership, Earn and Burn Hyatt Points
I received an email last night announcing a new World of Hyatt & Exhale Partnership. Exhale is a spa and fitness facility that offers fitness classes and spa therapies like massages and facials. I found this to be very strange until I saw that Hyatt purchased the Exhale brand and many are located inside Hyatt hotels.
This seems to be a better fit than the partnership that Hyatt tried with Oasis. That partnership is already ending. The difference with the Exhale partnership is that it actually offers some decent value for Hyatt members.
Earning at Exhale
World of Hyatt members can rake in the points on their workouts and massages. All WoH members will earn 10 points per dollar spent at Exhale. That is like getting 18% back on taking care of your body with a 1.8 cent per point valuation. Hyatt elites get even more though:
Explorist:
Receive a Week of Wellbeing when you earn or requalify for Explorist status. That includes a week of unlimited Barre, Cardio, Yoga, and HIIT classes, 25% off spa therapies, and 15% off boutique purchases.
Globalist:
Receive everything the Explorist gets PLUS complimentary classes when paying an eligible rate at any Hyatt hotel
Even the non elites get something with this announcement. World of Hyatt is giving everyone a complimentary Week of Wellbeing in celebration of the partnership. An email should be sent out to all members with instructions.
Spending at Exhale
The earn side of this partnership looks great. Giving free classes to some elite members plus 10X earning per dollar is nothing to sneeze at. World of Hyatt is off to a good start here. But what about on the burning side…can you get good value when redeeming your Hyatt points? The answer is a surprising yes, it is possible.

The fitness classes cost $37 per class when buying individual sessions. That is a redemption rate of 1.85 cents per point. Not bad at all. If you buy blocks of classes the rates drop so it is not as good of a deal if you were planning on doing classes long term. But when traveling you probably only want a class or two so the points option is perfect.
The spa therapies offer less of a deal. The facials and massages tend to fall in the $155 to $165 range. That offers a redemption rate of 1.29 cents per point which is not a great value.

Conclusion
Having more options to earn and burn points is always a plus. These type of partnerships rarely offer good redemption rates though. Exhale may be the exception, for some services at least. Getting over 1.8 cents per point for fitness classes is well worth the redemption. Staying healthy while on the road is difficult and this is a unique way to stay on track. The massage and facial options are not as good but if you are points rich and want to travel for free they may be an option.
People with status should be happy about the partnership, especially Globalist members. Globalists will get complimentary classes when staying at a Hyatt hotel that has an Exhale spa attached. Here is a list of locations but remember that not all of them are attached to a Hyatt hotel.
