Free $10 Costco Shop Card When You Sign Up for Auto Renewal
I received a Hallmark card in the mail from Costco the other day with the following offer. Costco was trying to entice me to sign up for automatic renewal with a $10 Costco Shop card. Remember that these Costco gift cards allow you to shop at Costco without a membership. This offer is slightly different than last years $20 offer since you have to use a Visa card to qualify. Let’s take a look at the offer.
Details of the Offer
Here are the terms of the offer:
- Go to Costco.com and click Sign In/Register. Use your membership number located on the front of the mailer.
- Go to My Account and click Account Details.
- Click Renew Membership and then select Auto Renew.
You can also sign up at the membership counter of your local Costco store. Be sure to bring the mailer with you.
The account must be enrolled in Auto Renew by March 31, 2020. Once completed a Costco Shop Card will arrive in the mail within 4-6 weeks after the promotion expiration date.
If you have any questions about enrolling call 1-800-774-2678.
Why I Am Passing
I am passing on this offer because I prefer to take advantage of Costco membership offers on Groupon. I find them to usually be a lot more valuable than a $10 Costco Shop card. But I also don’t use my Costco membership all that often.
If you do sign up for the auto renewal remember that Costco has a very customer friendly cancellation policy. You can get your $60 back at pretty much anytime during your membership year if you don’t find value in the membership any longer. Just go to the membership desk to cancel your membership.
Final Thoughts
Check your mail for this Costco $10 auto renewal offer. It could be useful if you were planning on renewing your membership anyway. I am willing to wait a few weeks or months between memberships until a Groupon deal pops back up. Others may value the membership more and are not willing to let it lapse for a short period of time.
It doesn’t appear that there is a way to get this offer if you were not targeted. You could try calling the number listed above and see if they will work with you though.
