20% Off Walmart Grocery with New Amex Offer

There is a new Amex offer for Walmart Grocery that appears to be targeted since I did not see it on any of my cards.  It is for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more through Walmart Grocery.

I reviewed Walmart Grocery last year and I still use it often to this day. It is a great service that lets you stay in the car while Walmart loads your groceries for you (a life saver with kids).  If you have never used the service before you can stack deals to get 33% off your first order.  First time users get $10 off their first purchase of $50 or more.  Here is my referral code, if you use it we both get $10 off our next order.  If you order $60 worth of groceries and use the $10 off code plus the Amex offer you get them for $40.

Details

Here are the details according to Stephen’s post at Frequent Miler.

  • $10 back when you spend $50 or more at grocery.walmart.com
  • There is a second version where you get 1,000 Membership Rewards points instead

The offers terms are:

  • Expires 11/15/18
  • Can be done in one or more transactions
  • Must shop at grocery.walmart.com.
  • Valid only on US website.

Remember that you are no longer able to add Amex Offers to multiple cards.  And even if you can the discounts may get clawed back. But Stephen is reporting that you can add each type of offer to one card.  Since the risk is minimal if clawed back I would say it was worth trying.

Conclusion

This is a pretty good Amex Offer that I am sad to say was not on any of my cards or my wife’s cards.  If you are new to Walmart Grocery and stack it with a new account bonus that is 33% off your next $60 grocery bill.

Let me know in the comments section if you received the offer and on what card.

  1. Update: I never did receive an email from AMEX after the purchase like normal. I chatted with them and they said the credit would post 7-10 days from the charge, but they wouldn’t manually do it at the time. I finally did receive the offer credit on September 25, 15 days after the charge originally posted.

  2. My charge cleared and the offer disappeared from available offers on 9/17, but the statement credit has still not posted. I did not get an email from Amex after the purchase like I normally do. Seems like this offer may be buggy given the same thing happened to Katie Z.

  3. I received the offer on my Platinum card- but the charge cleared on 9/10 and the statement credit still hasn’t posted.
