$200 Resort Credit At Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas

$200 Resort Credit At Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas

The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas has been making a big push since taking over the old Mandarin Oriental location.  When it was the Mandarin Oriental it was consistently ranked as one of the best hotels in Las Vegas.  Shawn recently had a chance to check out the property and their acclaimed restaurant Twist by Pierre GagnaireAmerican Express and the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas have teamed up to offer $200 in incidental credits on two night stays when paying with an Amex.

This deal would stack with your Aspire resort credit as well which you could use towards the room rate or for incidentals on property.  It may also stack with the $100 off of $500 Amex Offer.

Is This A Good Deal?

We all know that Hyatt likes to promise 4th nights free and then increases the price of the room so that it is more like 15% off instead of 25%.  But does Hilton do the same thing? I did a test booking and it looks like you actually save money by booking this rate (at least the dates I checked).

Price with $200 on property credit.

So using this booking will not only get you $200 in resort credit but it can also save you a few bucks too. This is assuming that the resort credit is included.  The terms do not specify that and these were both done in the same searches so I am not sure why they would leave it out if not included. But you may want to expect a $90 charge added on top which drops the resort credit down to $130 in value. If it ends up being included you could just be pleasantly surprised then :).

This is a pretty good offer if you were looking to be bougie on your next Vegas trip.  Depending on the room rate this Travel Zoo $299 suite plus $100 resort credit offer may be better. I would only book the Amex deal in two night stay chunks and I like that it works with any American Express card.

  1. it looks like the $45 fee will be added. when searching this offer using flexible dates this is listed on the page

Daily Resort Charge will be added to the room rate and includes: Guest Internet access; fitness club access; fitness and yoga classes; gourmet tea and coffee on 3rd floor; house car service (2 mile radius); notary services (2 documents daily); local and toll-free calls.

  2. In November 2018, I was able to stack Amex FH&R, Hilton Diamond Benefits, the $250 Resort Credit, and an Amex Offer for spending $350 or more, get $70 back. The total bill for one night was $411 and I ended up paying $37 total.

  3. Hi Mark – Good article on an interesting promo, thanks. I have some pretty strong educated guesses about the answers to several questions posed in the article and comments based on experience with the WA Las Vegas and other relevant data points:
    * Will you be changed a resort fee if you book the promotional offer? Yes – $45 + 13.38% tax per night, which comes to $51.02 all-in, or $102.04 for the 2-night stay in your example.
    * Will your $250 Aspire resort credit work with the promotional offer? Yes.
    * If you book the promotional offer, use an Amex card enrolled in the current WA/Conrad Amex Offer to pay, and spend at least $500, will it trigger the Amex Offer so that you get $100 statement credit? Yes.
    * If you’ve enrolled your Aspire card in the WA/Conrad Amex Offer, book the promotional offer, use the Aspire to pay, and spend at least $500, will it trigger *both* the Amex Offer and the $250 Aspire resort credit? Yes.

Nothing’s ever 100% certain because things change, but past experience would give me a very high degree of confidence in these answers. Hope this helps MtM readers get a great deal at a very cool hotel.

  4. “This deal would stack with your Aspire resort credit” – highlighting the $250 resort credit would work but not the $100 WA credit (stay must be booked with another code than current offer).

    • I assumed the resort fee was included in the promo rate since it isn’t listed out. Not 100% on that though and since it isn’t specified probably best to think they will add them on. That would knock it down to a $130 credit instead of $200 too. I’ll add in something about that. Weird that they would spell it out in one booking rate and not the other.

  5. Good reporting. But the AMEX WA VEGAS CREDIT price breakdown does NOT appear to include the $45/night resort fee, which would actually make it more expensive than the HONORS advance pricing. Unless the room rate of $225/night includes the $45/night resort fee.

    • Yeah I am not sure if it is or not. I assumed it was since they included it in the other price and it was during the same search but the terms do not specify that it is included so probably best to assume it will be tacked on which drops the credit to around $130.
