Both American Airlines & British Airways have launched a new promotion where full-fare economy, premium economy & business/first class tickets between North America & Europe earn mileage bonuses.
American Airlines
American has launched a promotion where you can earn up to 100,000 bonus miles when flying to Europe. As you can see the bonus applies when flying American & many of its partners. Unfortunately, the bonus is only paid on full-fare economy & higher fares which means it isn’t too good of a deal. Click here to register and use code: NA014. The flights must be completed by August 31, 2014.
British Airways
While this is really just the same promotion as above, if you prefer to earn Avios instead of Aadvantage miles, then British Airways will give you the chance. I personally think AAdvantage miles are more valuable, but to each his own. Click here to register and all flights must be completed by August 31, 2014.
Conclusion
Essentially this is the same promotion being offered by two different partners. I value American AAdvantage miles higher than Avios, so I would definitely choose that route if given the choice. With that said, I don’t have any plans to buy full-fare flights to Europe this summer, so this promotion is not for me. For those who regularly travel to Europe on business, it can be a nice little bonus!
