American Airlines & Radisson Team Up
American Airlines and Radisson are teaming up by offering an end of year promotion for stays at Radisson properties. After completing two eligible stays, members who register for the promotion will be awarded 7,500 bonus Aadvantage miles.
Is It Worth It
You don’t have to be a math genius to see this would only be worth it if you already had Radisson stays upcoming. Keep in mind that this promotion only pays on stays and not on nights. The easiest way to trigger this promotion would be with two one-night stays, but still I don’t see it as advantageous.
Terms & Conditions
Take Off with More Miles (the “Offer”) is available to Club CarlsonSM members for Eligible Stays at participating Radisson® hotels (“Participating Hotels”) September 15, 2014 through December 15, 2014.
Club Carlson is offered by Carlson Hotels, Inc. (“Carlson”), subject to Terms and Conditions. To be eligible for the Offer, you must be a Club Carlson member, an American Airlines AAdvantage member, register for the Offer by October 15, 2014, and provide your AAdvantage membership number during registration (“Eligible Member”). Eligible Members who complete two Eligible Stays between September 15, 2014 and December 15, 2014 will earn 7,500 AAdvantage miles (“Bonus Award”). Bonus Awards will post to your AAdvantage account four (4) to six (6) weeks after December 15, 2014. Only one Bonus Award per AAdvantage membership number.
An “Eligible Stay” for purposes of this Offer is a stay of one or more consecutive nights at a Participating Property, at a rate eligible for Gold Points®. You must provide your Club Carlson membership number at the time of reservation or check-in. By participating in this Offer, you agree to these terms and conditions and the Club Carlson terms and conditions. Participating Properties are subject to change without notice. Offer is subject to availability and blackout dates may apply. Carlson is not responsible for any technical failures/interruptions, internet accessibility problems, incomplete or inaccurate registration information, or other errors of any kind that may affect your enrollment in Club Carlson or participation in this Offer. Carlson reserves the right to add, modify or discontinue these terms and conditions, the Offer or Club Carlson, with or without notice or liability to you.
Even if you could find a $60 Radisson (something pretty common in the U.S.), you would be paying $120 for 7,500 Aadvantage miles which isn’t worth it given the numerous other ways to earn them. Also, I was unable to find a list of “Participating Hotels” on the site, so I am unsure which properties are excluded. With that said, once you register, there is a search function, so I assume any hotels which show up there are eligible.
Conclusion
This is a nice easy promotion if you commonly stay in Radisson properties or have upcoming stays. I personally never pay for my Radisson stays since I have ample Club Carlson points and always use them for a Bonus Award Night, which is a benefit of the co-branded credit card. Keep in mind to receive the bonus you must register by October 15, 2014 and the promotion is for stays from September 15, 2014 through December 15, 2014.
