Long Lines at Airports Around the Country
A technical outage has affected airports across the country this morning. American Airlines has announced the issue had been resolved. Other airlines were also affected, due to the Sabre airline reservation system being down for more than two hours. If you are traveling today, you might encounter residual delays.
“Earlier today, Sabre had a technical issue that impacted multiple carriers, including American. This technical issue has been resolved. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience,” the statement said.
“We confirm there has been an outage of the Sabre system, impacting several customers. However, the issue is now fully resolved, and we will take all necessary measures to prevent a recurrence,” Sabre said in a statement, as reported by NBC. “We apologize for the inconvenience our system outage has caused. The issue has been fully resolved and systems are back online.”
The outage started after 5AM this morning and soon after long lines started forming at major airports around the country.
