Amazon Prime Business Card Offer – $30 For Contactless Payments

I received an emailed offer yesterday for my Amazon Prime Business card.  The Prime Business card is issued by American Express and can get you 5% back on all of your Amazon purchases.  I signed up when there was a $150 Amazon gift card welcome offer. Amex and Amazon have been trying to get cardholders to use it at other places outside of the Amazon universe.  Normally this is a bad proposal, unless there is a spending offer, because the cash back is substandard outside of Amazon.  Most places will only net you a 1% return.  Amazon just released a new spending offer that changes that up, at least for my next 5 purchases.

The Offer

I received the offer via email but it is actually located and activated in your Amex Offers section of the card.  It is pretty straight forward, pay via a contactless method 5 times before 10/14/20 get a $30 statement credit.  There doesn’t appear to be a min purchase amount so if you can find a self checkout with contactless payment this would be a breeze to hit.

Final Thoughts

If you already use contactless payment methods then this is an easy win for you.  I normally don’t so I am not sure if I am going to go after the offer or not.  I may throw it in my wallet to see if I can take advantage of it with small purchases while at stores. It could count towards my college savings goal so it may push me to do it.
