American Airlines Starts Offering At-Home Covid Tests for U.S. Travel
American Airlines will soon start offering travelers at-home Covid-19 tests. Negative results from an approved lab are usually required in many countries and destination to avoid quarantines. Several states also require proof of negative tests airline passengers.
The initiative starts Wednesday for travel beginning Saturday. Test will be provided by LetsGetChecked and will cost $129. The company says that travelers should order their tests at least five days before their flight. If your flight is due to depart within 48 hours, do not order a test, the company says. Instead, you can see other testing options at aa.com.
How it Works
You first order your kit online. Before you activate your kit, schedule a UPS pickup for your sample(s). This can be done online or over the phone by calling 1-800-742-5877. Keep in mind that UPS pickup service does not operate on a Sunday.
Then you need to activate your test. You will complete a quick and easy activation step on LetsGetChecked.com, where you will be asked a few health-related questions. Some destinations will require you to join an observation call with a LetsGetChecked care professional to confirm your identity and observe your sample collection.
You collect your lower nasal sample from home and return your sample as soon as possible, using the prepaid UPS label provided in your kit. Samples collected on a Monday to Saturday should be returned via UPS on the same day. You then receive your results within 48 hours. You can see more details, and place your order here.

Randy – It does work for Hawaii. Let’s Get Checked falls under trusted partner of American Airlines. I flew to HNL last Sunday with no issues. Test results for sample taken in North Carolina was within 36 hours.
On the Hawaii safe travel website just check “other” for testing company.
Bob- I see it now your correct the actual test is not on the list (I searched for it) its American Airlines on the list under them the airlines has 3 of its own trusted partners. If you ordered that test do not fly with AA it would not be accepted. Its crazy to me how any at home test is trusted seams like a loophole as you could be testing the family dog if nobody os actually confirm your identity and watching you take the test.
If you self-pay most any blood test, there is scant ID verification already. Blood tests responsible for medical decisions, drawn at home, have already been underway for years.
ALL COVID-19 PCR tests used in the US are more than 50% inaccurate and can not diagnose disease nor predict transmission regardless what the media nor so called Departments of Health tells us.
The only reliable indicator of infection is symptoms.
Case-demic continues.
Travel to Florida recommended. Restaurants wide open; few restrictions; lower risk due to humid environmental conditions.
Hawaiian government continues its “rabbit-foot science” and destroys its tourism and economy while showing some of the lowest death rates in the nation, due to its tropical environmental conditions.
That may be good theory if the Lets get checked was an actually at home blood test but its just an at home swab test just as the common COVID testing. Who is to verify someone conducting swab self testing at home is actually swabbing themself and not someone or something else?
Im sure the tropics and heat help some with slowing down the spread but surely Hawaii strict border control has helped a great deal to slow the infections and death rate as one of lowest in the USS. Look at India its way hotter then Hawaii and they are currently the 2nd worst infected country. Florida also ranks 3rd worst within the US next to TX & CA all hot weather states with worst infections rates/deaths within the USA also without controlled entry.
Good points you raise, but there are many other variables to influence COVID spread omitted in my prior post, such as age, metabolic dysfunction, Vit D3 status, population density etc.
Controlled entry only works very early in a pandemic, mainly for small island nations – like Taiwan did.
I invite you to watch this video to get the precise scientific facts you need to make better decisions than the elected officials:

I think you missed my point on the blood tests, I referred to Non-COVID blood tests, such as lipid panel, etc. Disregard blood test comment to avoid confusion.
That wont work to enter Hawaii as its not on the list as a trusted testing partner as of yet.
