American Airlines Hikes Admirals Club Membership Prices

American Airlines is making a major change to Admirals Club membership pricing starting August 23, 2026, with the cost of a traditional membership almost doubling.

The standard Admirals Club membership will now cost as much as $1,400 per year, compared with a current maximum price of $850. The full membership includes access to nearly 50 Admirals Club locations and more than 60 partner lounges, along with guest privileges for immediate family or up to two guests.

Pricing will vary based on AAdvantage elite status. General members will pay $1,400, while Executive Platinum members will pay $1,200 for the full membership.

At the same time, American is adding a new single membership option. This lower-priced version provides access only for the member and does not include guest privileges or access to partner lounges. It will still provide entry to nearly 50 Admirals Club locations for the member only for $750.

One-day Admirals Club passes will remain available for $79, with no announced price increase.

The pricing changes also make the Citi / AAdvantage Executive Mastercard more relevant for travelers who want regular lounge access. The card’s annual fee is increasing from $595 to $695 on August 23, but the card still includes a full Admirals Club membership for the primary cardholder, including guest access and partner lounges. So if you’re looking for lounge access, getting the card is a no-brainer.
