Citi AAdvantage Executive Card Refresh
Citi and American Airlines are refreshing the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Legend Mastercard® with several new benefits and a higher annual fee.
Beginning August 23, 2026, the card’s annual fee will increase by $100, from $595 to $695, for new cardholders. The authorized-user fee will remain $175 for up to three users, followed by another $175 for each additional user.
The card’s current welcome offer is 70,000 American Airlines AAdvantage bonus miles after spending $7,000 within the first three months of account opening. It remains the only credit card that includes a full Admirals Club membership.
New and Existing Benefits
The refreshed card will add up to $500 in annual statement credits toward eligible American Airlines Vacations packages and experiences. Cardholders will also receive up to $100 back annually on eligible inflight and Admirals Club purchases.
The existing Lyft benefit will increase from a maximum of $120 to $180 per year. Cardholders can earn a $15 Lyft credit after completing three eligible rides during a calendar month.
Earnings on eligible AAdvantage Hotels and AAdvantage Cars bookings will increase from 10X to 12X miles.
Citi is also expanding the card’s Loyalty Point bonuses. Cardholders will receive 10,000 bonus Loyalty Points after reaching 50,000, 90,000, 165,000 and 240,000 Loyalty Points during the same qualification year. That increases the maximum annual bonus from 20,000 to 40,000 Loyalty Points.
Other additions include complimentary Omni Select Guest Champion status, an annual Omni free-night reward after a qualifying stay of at least two consecutive nights, and complimentary Avis President’s Club status through August 31, 2028.
The card will continue to include Admirals Club membership, 4X miles on eligible American Airlines purchases, a first checked bag free on eligible domestic itineraries, priority airport benefits, up to $120 in prepaid Avis and Budget rental credits, and a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit.
Conclusion
The refresh adds a long list of benefits, but it is difficult to call it a major improvement. The $500 American Airlines Vacations credit sounds valuable, though it is restricted to vacation packages and experiences rather than ordinary airfare. The Omni benefit, higher Lyft credit and additional Loyalty Point milestones will be useful to some frequent travelers. But it adds more coupons that you may or may not use, for an extra $100 annually.
