American Express Green Card Revamp

American Express Green Card Revamp Coming?

The American Express Green Card is not talked about much for good reason. It has no public sign up bonus currently and it earns 2X at AmexTravel and 1X everywhere else. It also comes with a $95 annual fee that is waived the first year.

But that could change soon. The American Express Green Card is rumored to be the next one to undergo a transformation as Doctor of Credit reports. Here’s the changes that we could see:

  • 4x points on gas purchases
  • 3x points on streaming services

Then there’s also another rumor that could be huge. American Express is also trying to include Amazon Prime as a benefit of this card. That’s a value of $119 per year and something that many people are already paying for. The changes are expected to happen sometimes between late February and early March.

Conclusion

It would be great to see American Express make this charge card more appealing. The Amazon Prime benefit would be a great perk to have and should attract many people. But the annual fee will probably be increased as well. Let’s see if it actually happen and how they balance the new benefits with the annual fee.
