You Can No Longer Apply for the Amex Ameriprise Platinum Card

The American Express Ameriprise Platinum card is no longer available for new applications. Now when you go to the card page here, it displays a message saying “this offer is no longer available”.

The American Express Ameriprise Platinum card was a different flavor of the Amex Platinum card and was considered a separate product.

The card used to have a waived fee for the first year and no welcome offer. That was a huge perk on its own for people who were looking to get all the travel perks that the Platinum card provides without the hefty fee. Recently it switched to a 60,000 point welcome offer and you had to pay the fee.

It’s not clear what will happen with current cardholders in the future. Looks like they have now switched to Visa cards issued by Elan Bank.

  1. I have this card. My AF is due next January. I wonder if I will be PC to the Visa or ? I was going to cancel prior to AF but now I am curious?
