Amex Delta Gold Card Offers Without Lifetime Restrictions [Targeted]
Yesterday I posted about a targeted offer for the Amex Delta Gold card that offered 75,000 bonus miles. That is the highest ever bonus offered for this credit card.
In that post, reader BFD, mentioned that he had a different offer and he didn’t see the lifetime restriction on it. I assumed he might have missed it or maybe it was just a rare exception. However, later in the day I received an offer myself, for only 50K bonus miles. This offer didn’t have the lifetime language either. So it seems that all offers that were sent out by email do not have this limitation.
The Offers
- Earn 50,000 Bonus Miles after you spend $2,000 or more in eligible purchases with your new Card within the first 3 months of Card Membership, and earn an additional 25,000 Bonus Miles after you make an additional $1,000 in eligible purchases within your first 6 months. Plus, you can earn a $50 statement credit after making a Delta purchase with your new Card in the first 3 months.
- Earn 45,000 Bonus Miles after you spend $1,000 or more in eligible purchases with your new Card within the first 3 months of Card Membership, and earn an additional 15,000 Bonus Miles after you make an additional $1,000 in eligible purchases within your first 6 months. Plus, you can earn a $50 statement credit after making a Delta purchase with your new Card in the first 3 months.
- Earn 35,000 Bonus Miles after you spend $1,000 or more in eligible purchases with your new Card within the first 3 months of Card Membership, and earn an additional 15,000 Bonus Miles after you make an additional $1,000 in eligible purchases within your first 6 months.1 Plus, you can earn a $50 statement credit after making a Delta purchase with your new Card in the first 3 months.
Conclusion
These targeted offers without the lifetime restriction are rare and give you the opportunity to earn the bonus once again, even if you have had the credit card in the past. If you were targeted, but overlooked the offer because you have had this card previously, check your email again. If you don’t see the lifetime restriction then you are eligible to get the bonus.

I was targeted for the Delta Gold American Express card in September, 2017. The offer I received from Delta stated that “This product is available to you if you do not have this Card and have not received a new Cardmember bonus for this Card in the past 24 months.” Since I had not received a bonus in the past 24 months, I applied and was accepted. However, a month or so following my acceptance, Delta changed the rules. Now they say: This product is available to you if you do not have this card and have not previously received a bonus for this Card. So they told me that I was not eligible and will not grant me the miles promised in their offer. In other words, they changed the rules after I got my card and started to use it and would not grant my bonus miles. Can they do that? Is that legal? Does anyone know what recourse I have to hold them to their original offer?

I got the 75k offer and called customer service about the fine print. I explained to them that I didn’t want to apply only to get rejected because of my prior card that I closed 13 months ago. She confirmed that if I am approved, I will get the full 75k points if I meet the MS. Here goes nothing!
Did you get approved? I want to apply but when I called customer service they stated I could not get the points/rewards again! Mixed messages!
Got an offer of 60,000 Miles with only $1K spend within 3 months. 1st year free, then $95 AF. Not seeing lifetime restriction language. I initially ignored the email.
How do you get AMEX to mail you these offers?
Thanks! I ignored an offer for 50K plus 25K because I just turned in my two-year-old card last summer. But there’s no first year charge and no lifetime mention in my offer. Guess I’ll see if it actually works.
Hmm – application is pending. That’s not the response I usually get.
did it work for you?
I am indeed getting the card and everyone I talked to at AmEx seems to expect me to get the bonus as well. The glitch was mine, on entering data wrong on my application (first time for everything, I guess).
