Amex Business Cardholders, Earn Bonus Points for Adding Employee Cards

American Express often offers bonuses for adding additional cards to your accounts. These bonuses are usually for adding one card, and it can be an easy 20,000 points. But now some people are able to earn much more by adding employee cards to business credit cards.

While the offer is not as good as usual, it does give you the opportunity to add more cards and earn more points. But there’s also a considerable spending requirement. Let’s see how it works.

The Offer

Add up to five new Employee Card Members to your Basic American Express Business Platinum Card account and earn 20,000 Membership Rewards® points after each new Employee Card Member spends $4,000 in eligible purchases on the new Card in their first 6 months of Card Membership, up to 100,000 Membership Rewards points.

  • The annual fee for each Employee Business Platinum Card is $300.
  • You can add Employee Business Gold Cards for $45 each.
  • You can also add Employee Business Green.

You can check the promotion link here.

Key Terms

  • Offer is nontransferable.
  • Your request to add Employee Cards must be processed and approved by 12/31/2021 11:59PM ET to be eligible for this offer.
  • Purchases made by other Employee Card Members on your Account, including Employee Cards that you do not add here, will not count toward the $4,000 spend requirement.
  • Your purchases as the Basic Card Member will not count toward the $4,000 spend requirement.
  • The 20,000 Membership Rewards points will be applied to the Basic Card Member’s American Express account within 8-12 weeks after the Employee Card Member has met the purchase requirement.

Conclusion

With this offer you can earn up to 100,000 bonus points for adding five employee cards. This works even better if you are working towards a signup bonus, since employee card spend counts towards that bonus as well.

It’s also possible to add up to 99 Employee Card Members and earn the bonus on each card. This offer is available by phone, for up to 1,980,000 Membership Rewards points.

  1. I saw the offer below my Business Gold and Business Platinum cards, but when I was done applying online for employee cards for my Business Gold, the offer was gone from the Business Platinum. I had however saved the link and immediately applied for 5 employee cards there as well.

    Will these be eligible?

  2. It is not much even after a lot of effort if you can do multiplayer mode
Just so we compare cash to cash – lost cash back is 2.625c = 4k spend costs 105$ cost
    20k Amex with Schwab cash out is 220$ – For each employee card, you get 115$ benefit;
Not worth it, especially when the same 4k spend can get anywhere from 500$ to 1000$ in Sign up Bonus cash value when you get the 5 employees to sign up for cards

  3. A few months ago, I called in to AMEX about an admin item. After the admin item was done, the CSR said, “While I have you on the line” and then offered me the up-to-99-employee deal. This came out of the blue. Wish I had 99 employees. I bet someone could get the offer simply by asking.
