Avis AAdvantage Promotion
Avis & American Airlines have had quite the partnership lately. Earlier this year they offered a really nice rental car bonus and then there are those Avis branded golf kiosks in all of the Admiral’s Club locations.
The two companies have a new rental promotion which is good through the end of the year. It isn’t quite as lucrative as the earlier promotion, but you can earn up to 3,000 bonus AAdvantage miles for 5 day rentals, which is still pretty good.
Compared to Previous Promotion
The previous promotion which ran during the summer gave 1,000 miles for rentals of 1-2 days, 3,000 miles for 3-4 days, 5,000 for 5-6 days and 7,500 for 7 days or longer.
This new offers 750 miles on 2 day rentals, 1,500 miles on 3 day rentals and 3,000 miles on 5 day rentals. Obviously it isn’t quite as good, but it may still be worth looking into.
How to Get the Bonus
To get the bonus you must use AWD # K817186 and coupon code MUAA077 when booking. The codes will get you up to 35% off of your rental in addition to the bonus miles.
Don’t Fall Into the Trap
I always suggest shopping around for the best prices and coupon codes. Don’t get stuck on this deal just for the bonus miles. For example during the earlier Avis promotion, I always found them to be more expensive and thus wasn’t able to justify using their company.
When it comes to renting cars I find elite benefits don’t matter much and I thus go for the cheapest option within reason. (Which sometimes backfires.) Other people have different priorities, so I will leave the final judgement up to you.
Conclusion
In the end this is a decent promotion for bonus AAdvantage miles if Avis is your preferred company or if they happen to be the cheapest in your situation. Just don’t fall in the trap and remember to always shop around!
