Analysis
Transferring hotel points to airline miles is almost never going to be a good deal, so be prepared to lose a lot. Still, if you have some hotel points that are stranded and need a top off, then this could make sense I suppose. This transfer bonus comes out every year, with last year’s being a bit better at 35%.
As One Mile at a Time points out, Bonvoy may be the only real option worth considering. If you do it exactly right then you can get a value that isn’t going to make you throw up in your mouth.
Conclusion
While this isn’t the best transfer bonus we see for British Airways Avios, I know many of us get stuck with orphaned points so it could make sense to participate. I always keep a nice chunk of Avios in my accounts since I use them often and have scored some amazing deals when redeeming them!
