CardCash 5X Chase Ink Data Points

Update: Purchases of gift cards from CardCash no longer earn 5X with Chase Ink cards.

Back in December I covered the news that gift card reseller CardCash is now once again coding to earn 5X Ultimate Rewards points with a Chase Ink Plus or Ink Cash card. At that time I was able to confirm that purchases through PayPal did earn 5X, however I hadn’t seen any data on direct purchases.

Fortunately (or unfortunately), the data has now come in. Courtesy of Clayton in the Miles to Memories Travel Hacking Facebook group, we now know that direct purchases DO NOT earn 5X points.

Fortunately, purchases made with a Chase Ink Plus/Cash card through PayPal do continue to earn 5X.

Note that CardCash only guarantees their cards for 45 days from purchase, so I only recommend purchasing from them if you have an immediate need. I also generally set a calendar reminder of the 45 day period if I don’t use the card right away.

Need to Know

Here is what you need to know about CardCash 5X Chase Ink:

  • You SHOULD EARN 5X if you pay with a Chase Ink Plus or Chase Ink Cash card THROUGH PAYPAL.
  • You SHOULDN”T EARN 5X if you pay with a Chase Ink Plus or Chase Ink Cash card DIRECT ON THE CARDCASH SITE.
