CardCash Black Friday Discount

CardCash is offering 5% off all gift cards on their site with the code FIVEFRIDAY. The code expires on 11/27/16.

Analysis

This can be a good deal, but it does seem like CardCash has pulled some of the better cards like Walmart, Target and Amazon. I also have noticed that discounts on other cards are less than normal meaning in some cases this discount isn’t quite as good as it sounds. Still, there may be some opportunity.

The one thing you should know is that CardCash is notorious for buying from shady sellers and thus cards purchased from them tend to go bad after their 45 day guarantee period. What this means is that you probably shouldn’t buy any cards which you aren’t going to use right away. I have had a number of headache cards with CardCash and don’t buy from them anymore unless I have an immediate use.

Finally, make sure to use comparison sites like Gift Card Wiki to check the current discount rates across all resellers. I suspect on many brands some other resellers will have better discounts despite the code. If CardCash has the best discount and if it is for a card you plan to use right away, then this could be a great deal.

  1. Beware using cardcash. I bought hyatt gift cards and they were already used and when i tried to ask them for a refund they told me it was outside their 45 day return policy and left me out to dry. Lost $1500 and they would do nothing to help.

  2. Good analysis. It’s like I told my friend, if you’re not planning on using that on a purchase within the next few days then just don’t do it. It’s too easy to sit on a card and think you have a few weeks and then something happens and you don’t buy the item or you decide to go through a different store. And also know that INK will not code at 5x anymore…. just in case anyone sees this and factors that into their decision.
