Chase Adding Abuse Warning to Some Chase Offers
Some Chase Offers are now showing new language warning cardholders that abusing offers could result in losing access to future promotions.
The terms state: “Abuse of offers may result in exclusion from future offers.” The warning was first spotted on an Air Canada Chase Offer by Frequent Miler.
Chase doesn’t specify what it considers abuse or whether a violation would result in losing access to all Chase Offers or only that specific offer.
Most cardholders using Chase Offers normally should have nothing to worry about. Still, the new wording suggests Chase may be paying closer attention to how these promotions are used and could take action against accounts it believes are gaming the system.
Conclusion
The warning is vague, but it is worth noting since Chase is now explicitly reserving the right to exclude cardholders from future offers.
Chase lets you add and use offers on multiple cards, so I doubt that would be an issue. Maybe they’re going after people who return or cancel purchases after receiving credit from a Chase Offer.
We will have to wait and see how broadly the language appears and whether Chase actually begins enforcing it.
