Chase Extends DoorDash Benefit
Chase announced today that it is extending the DoorDash benefit available to many Chase cardmembers, including Sapphire Reserve and Preferred. But this benefit is also changing a bit when it comes to the DoorDash credit that we saw early one. Instead of a one time credit, there’s now a monthly credit.
As a reminder, DashPass is DoorDash’s membership program offering members unlimited $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on restaurant, convenience and retail deliveries over the minimum subtotal ($12), or grocery deliveries over the minimum subtotal ($25).
Beyond perks to help save on delivery fees, DashPass members also enjoy access to always-on benefits like 5% in DoorDash credit back on all eligible Pickup orders as well as access to members-only exclusive items and promotional offers.
Check out the benefit detail updates by card family below.
Sapphire Reserve and Preferred Cards
- Sapphire Reserve and Preferred cardmembers with active, free DashPass memberships will continue to receive the benefit through December 31, 2024.
- If any cardmembers recently cancelled DashPass, they can re-enroll to receive this extended timeframe of complimentary DashPass.
- New and existing cardmembers who have not yet activated the DashPass benefit can enroll to receive a complimentary DashPass benefit through 12/31/24 or a minimum of 12 months, dependent upon activation date.
- Beginning in April 2022 through December 2024, Sapphire Reserve cardmembers enrolled in complimentary DashPass will also receive a $5 monthly DoorDash in-app credit. The credit can be redeemed by complimentary DashPass members in the DoorDash app and customers can accumulate the credit for up to 3 months before expiration (a maximum of $15 total credit to redeem).
Freedom and Slate Cards
- Effective April 1, 2022, cardmembers who have not used the Chase DashPass benefit before will have until 12/31/24 to enroll for three free months. After the three months they will be auto enrolled to 50% off ($4.99/month) for 9 months, and then auto enrolled in a monthly DashPass membership at full price ($9.99/month).
Conclusion
It’s great to see this benefit extended, but it might be a bit of a hassle to use up the $5 monthly credit. The best option for Sapphire cardholders could be just to let it accumulate for three months, and then get a $15 discount on one order.

Looks like Chase still has to update this in their systems. I canceled my subscription before 1/31. When I go back to the benefits section within my Chase account for the CSR, it says offer ended 1/31 and I can enroll with DoorDash for a paid subscription if I want to.
So if I already canceled my membership because it expired am I SOL here?
