Targeted Chase IHG 80K Link Found – My Approval StoryI wrote about the speculation surrounding Chase’s IHG card earlier today. I was debating whether or not I should sign up for the card. The bonus was only 60,000 IHG points plus a $50 statement credit. I was clicking around IHG’s website when I located a link for 80,000 points but no statement credit.
I value 20,000 points at around $120 so I will take the points over the $50 but you have to make your own decision on that.
The offer came up when I was logged into my IHG account and was on IHG’s front page. Make sure to attempt the offer while signed in or go to IHG’s home page and see if it shows up there.
See John’s comment below. He says it is possible to call Chase and get the 80,000 point offer over the phone if you aren’t targeted. People have reported success being matched to 80,000 if they recently signed up for the 60,000 point card.
Offer Details
The offer is as follows:
- 80,000 Chase IHG points after spending $2000 in 3 months of cardmembership
- The $49 annual fee is waived the first year
This is superior to the 60,000 point plus $50 statement credit offer I talked about earlier.
My Story
Finding the increased offer pretty much got me off the fence and I applied right away. I was instantly approved but with only a $2,000 limit. I already sent Chase a secure message to move $8,000 from one of my other Chase cards to make the limit $10,000.
This card puts me at 3 personal cards and 2 business cards with Chase.
Conclusion
This is a great offer if you are able to get it to come up. If you were debating whether or not to sign up for the card at 60,000 points this should help make that decision a little easier.

another installment on the quest, cards came today, both made out to me ( one was ordered for my son)
logged in to verify them, and they froze all my chase accounts.
spend about 30 minutes on the phone to get my accounts open, but they cancelled the ihg cards

Wow – have you signed up for a lot of cards recently or did they close them double because of the double card issue error?
seems it was a security issue, even got a call at home from their security dept late in the day. I had to fax some info to them, ( I googled the number, seem it crosses over to amex and bank of A, maybe they share the same verification service with chase.
still have to get the ihg card activated. ( it did show up on my chase online accounts page before it actually arrived, but gone now)
we’ll see how long on the phone it takes to get it back on.
after 2 more false starts and phone calls , new cards just arrived.
I wonder if they are sticking to the 80K bonus points deal, no indication of it on the pile of info that came with the cards .
Send them a secure message asking for the details of your welcome offer. You will know for sure then.
I charged $2k on the card, now waiting for the charge to go from pending so I can pay it off and see if the “plan” works/
looks like using the points for air travel is not so good

I had originally applied for 60k offer 3 days ago. After seeing this post, I messaged chased via surcure messaging and provided the hyperlink. Mentioned that I am really interested in the 80k offer with $2000 spend vs 60k offer with $1000 spend, if they would match me. They replied back 4 hrs later and matched the offer.

That department doesn’t process applications. They just apply on your behalf. If you want a decision sooner, call Chase to check you status and ask to get transferred to an analyst. I was approved by one without any additional questions.
I did get the 80K offer on the phone but it was not immediate approval. They told me two weeks I will be notified by mail. Anyone else experience this?
try making a dummy reservation, and you may see the 80k offer plus the $50. I did that a month ago and was approved.

If you are not targeted, you can call IHG and ask about the Chase IHG card. Then you get transferred to Chase and they will give you the 80K offer even when you are not targeted online.

The card does count towards 5/24 but it is not a 5/24 card…you can get approved for it if you are over 5/24.

Thanks, is 80K link still working? I was trying little earlier, it opened 80K page then directed towards 60k? Any suggestion?
It looks like it may be targeted. Try signing into your IHG account first and then click it and see if it comes up then.
Thanks a lot Mark. Here’s what I did. Logged in my IHG account, I saw the 80K link (didn’t use your above link), applied (this time it went to the application process correctly) and got approved for $24k.

Excellent – congrats! Yes Chase is rumored to be ending this card and relaunching it with different terms etc. So better to get in on it now with no AF the first year and the better terms.
I did the same as what Quazi did, but continue to get bounced to the 60k application link =/ tried it on mine and my wife’s ihg account, both end up on the 60k link.
