Chase IHG Premier Increased Offer

Chase IHG Premier, Free Night Plus 140,000 Bonus Points

Chase has launched a new welcome offer for the Chase IHG Premier card. You can now earn a free night plus 140,000 points when you apply and are approved for the card. This is one of the best offers we have seen. Let’s check the details of this Chase IHG Premier bonus.

Update 7/5/22: Our links are now live if you were interested in the card and would like to support the site, podcast and YouTube channel. Thanks in advance for supporting free content!

The Offer

Here are the offer details:
  • Earn 140,000 Bonus Points + a Free Night (up to 40,000 points) after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
  • $99 annual fee
  • Learn More

Earlier this year IHG rolled out some very welcomed changes to the IHG Premier. It includes a new earning structure on the card and the ability to top off free night certificates.

Welcome Offer Restrictions

This card falls under Chase’s 5/24 rule.

Chase also has a 24 month rule for every credit card:

This product is not available to either current cardmembers of this credit card, or previous cardmembers of this credit card who received a new cardmember bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months.

The card also has a family rule. You can not get the card if you currently have the legacy $49 IHG Mastercard.

What Is The Offer Worth

IHG points are normally valued at around 1/2 cent a piece. That would make this 140,000 points offer worth about $700. Add the free night and you get another $200 if you maximized it. That means that the Chase IHG Premier card offers a value of about $800 in the first year after subtracting the annual fee which is not waived.

Any time you are getting over $500 in value I think it is a worthwhile offer.  That also doesn’t include the $100 TSA or Global Entry credit. If you need to apply or renew, that is some added value as well.

Conclusion

This is a big bonus if you are invested in the revamped IHG program, or if you want to get started. You can get good value out of this bonus. The Chase IHG Premier card is likely going to be a long term keeper since most will get more than $99 in value (the annual fee) for the anniversary night stay.

  1. Hi,
How long do I need to wait if I cancel my IHG select ( $49) card before applying for this offer? Way under 5/24. Thanks

  2. I like No fees and Cashback. I think I’m going to go for the 120,000 no fee IHG and the Amazon $500 spend with $200 credit. Just not sure what order to apply as well as how much time in between…
