Chase IHG Premier Offer
When most points and travel enthusiasts think of an IHG credit card welcome bonus, they might first go to the personal version of the Chase IHG Premier offer. It’s easy to forget that this card has a younger business sibling, which I reviewed back in 2022. Chase routinely elevates offers on each of their IHG cards, and right now is one of those times. Today, I’m focusing a bit more on who can do the better with the Chase IHG Premier Business card, and how. But first, I’ll reset the currently-elevated offers.

Who’s the Chase IHG Business Card Offer For?
Captain Obvious here says the card’s for business owners who are loyal to IHG. But this offer is specifically optimal for individuals interested in obtaining IHG One Rewards Diamond status. I reached this level in early 2024 and have enjoyed its perks on a variety of IHG stays since.
Many interested in IHG points – but not status – will quickly find one of the personal cards a better fit. One reason is they’ll obtain more value from those offers at lower spend thresholds. But IHG loyalists interested in Diamond status can earn it with $40k in calendar year spend on the IHG Business card (similar to the personal version). Therefore, since these individuals are spending $40k, anyway, they’ll easily come out ahead with the 200k bonus points/$9k spend offer rather than the personal version’s 165k.
But wait! There’s more to consider!
Optimal Timing
Threading the needle on application and spend timing is key in order to optimally take advantage of this superior IHG business card offer. Luckily, Chase has generously advised that these elevated offers expire on 22 Oct 2025.
Those interested in Diamond elite status naturally want to maximize how long they’re at that level. Once a member achieves such a status, IHG One Rewards provides it for the remainder of the existing and entire following year. Therefore, with this offer, spending $40k in 2025 isn’t near as advantageous as in 2026. In the first scenario, an individual would only obtain Diamond for the remainder of 2025 and all of 2026. But by deferring spend to early 2026, an individual can potentially reach Diamond elite status relatively early in 2026 and for all of 2027.
Put It Off!
Therefore, the best move is to apply for the IHG Business card just before the offer’s 22 Oct expiration – I’d recommend a day or two before just to be safe. Let’s say Joe Cardholder decides to apply on 20 Oct. In that case, Joe has until ~20 Jan 2026 to meet the first 140k welcome offer spend threshold, and until ~20 Apr 2026 to meet the second 60k threshold.
In addition to putting off the application until just before the welcome offer expiration date, Joe should defer all spending to early 2026 so that it counts for all of the card’s big spend bonuses (including $40k and Diamond status) plus, of course, the signup bonus thresholds. Perhaps the biggest area to watch is spending $3k within the first 2+ weeks of 2026. Stay organized, watch the calendar, and quickly strike when it’s time to spend.
Conclusion
Chase IHG card spending isn’t exactly the most rewarding type of everyday spend. Therefore, it’s important to earn as efficiently as possible via elevated welcome offers, big spend bonuses, and optimal timing. Individuals can be targeted for periodic spend offers – which can be worth pursuing – but they don’t compare to the multiple, simultaneous efforts I mentioned.  Again, this angle isn’t for everyone, but those interested can do big things here. I plan to requalify for IHG One Rewards Diamond status via big spend bonus in early 2026. I’ll see you at breakfast!
