Conclusion
$500 is the best offer we have seen on this card and if 5/24 wasn’t around it would have been very exciting. The card is great to have since it earn 5% at office supply stores. You can read our detailed review here. That $500 can be 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points if you have a Ultimate Rewards earning card. And there’s no annual fee, so it’s worth keeping long term.
But, for those who qualify, it might be best to look at better bonuses. Chase Ink Preferred for example currently has a 80,000 Bonus. You can get that bonus first, if you don’t have the card and then downgrade to the Chase Ink Cash.

Denied with an 807 credit score. Called for reconsideration, took ~30 minutes on the phone with questions about my business. As sole proprietor (opened EIN for banking purposes) I asked for them to look into it. I don’t fall under the 5/24. Turns out I do, when they consider authorized user accounts that I’ve been put on my partner’s accounts. So consider that, and they did. They took that into consideration but still returned to me with denial after a 30 minute reconsideration call. “Too many open accounts, and available credit.” and “Business is ‘too new’.”
I have 21 open accounts (this is to include student loans) AND authorized users apparently. I keep all my balances low and paid like any 800+ -er. With Chase selling their INK card as a “kick-start” to any business, I’m surprised by this denial. I have all of my credit cards spread out among different banks, only 2 cards being with Chase, Amazon & Freedom Unlimited. Hope this helps someone not hit their credit unnecessarily, Chase seems to strong arm people more than any other bank.
May be worth closing down some of the AU accounts if you don’t use them and then calling back. I believe if it is within 30 days they won’t pull your credit a second time.
They won’t pull the credit report, but wouldn’t that mean they won’t see the reflected change of the closed AU accounts? (we are actually in the process of disconnecting all AU). Been a great planner, but never saw implications of adding AUs for little bonuses that are often offered here and there. Didn’t realize the affect they had on the credit report.
My wife and I each have an Ink Cash from a product change from Ink Plus over a year ago. My wife has one 5/24 slot open if Chase indeed does not count the Ink Business Preferred she just got approved for 1 month ago. She would transfer her credit line from Ink Cash to Ink Bus Preferred and then close her Ink Cash. How long do you advise waiting after closing before applying for this outrageous bonus on a no fee card? She was planning to go for the Sapphire Preferred but will wait on that to try for this business card first as it could be another free play if It also is not counted. It seems like a long shot but awesome if it works. On the negative thought side, my wife hates reconsideration calls and this one could be very uncomfortable.
Thanks for the heads up! SMing Chase now to see if they’ll match the offer. 1st statement hasn’t closed yet so here’s to hoping.
Chase has been good about it in the past…and with it being a public offer I like your chances.
They shot me down, almost sounds the like rep isn’t aware it’s a public offer. Think calling would a make a difference?
