Chase Marriott cardholders now have the opportunity to earn double the usual bonus for every friend they refer. The maximum you can earn within a year has been doubled as well. Additionally, the welcome bonus for new applicants has also been improved with a lower spending requirement. Let’s see the details.

Marriott Cards Referral Bonus

You can earn up to 200,000 bonus points each calendar year. That’s 40,000 bonus points for each friend who gets the card. Your friend chooses any card.

Normally you earn just 20,000 bonus points for each friend you refer, and the annual limit is 100,000.

  • Marriott Bonvoy Boundless: Earn 3 Free Nights after you spend $1,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from your account opening.
  • Marriott Bonvoy Bold: Earn 1 Free Night after you spend $500 on purchases in your first 3 months from your account opening.

Each Free Night Award E-Certificate is valid for a one night hotel stay at a property with a redemption level up to 35,000 points. These offers are different from the public offers that can get you 75,000 and 50,000 points respectively.

Conclusion

The referral bonus has been doubled. That makes this deal better for those who want the cards with the free nights offer. For the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card for example, you would get 3 free nights, each valued up to 35K pints, and another 40K points as a referral bonus. The spending requirement  has also been lowered from $3,000 to $1,000 for the Boundless card and from $1,000 to $500 for the Bold card.
