Chase Sapphire Banking Bonus: $750 For New Accounts

There is a new Chase Sapphire banking bonus out there for new accounts. It comes with a pretty large $750 bonus attached but it is not as good as the $1000 bonus we see every so often. One such bonus ended earlier this year. Some people may find the offer still valuable enough not to wait for the better offer so let’s take a look at the details.

New Chase Sapphire Banking Offer

Start with these three steps to get your $750 bonus:

  • Open now or meet with a banker to open an account by 1/21/2021
  • Within 45 calendar days, transfer a total of $75,000 or more in qualifying new money or securities to a combination of eligible checking, savings and/or investment accounts, and maintain that balance for at least 90 days.
  • Set up direct deposit for the account within 90 days of opening.
  • The bonus will be forfeited if you close the account within 6 months.

Your $750 bonus will be deposited into your Chase Sapphire Checking account within 30 business days.

  • Service Fee
    • Chase SapphireSM Checking has no Monthly Service Fee when you do the following each statement period: Keep an average beginning day balance of $75,000 or more in any combination of this account and linked qualifying Chase checking, savings and other balances. Otherwise a $25 Monthly Service Fee will apply.
  • Bonus Account Information 
    • Offer is not available to existing Chase checking customers, or those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance. To receive the $750 bonus: 1) Open a new Chase SapphireSM Checking account. 2) Have your direct deposit made to this account within 90 days of account opening. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments (such as Chase QuickPay® with Zelle®) are not considered a direct deposit. 3) Within 45 calendar days, transfer a total of $75,000 or more in qualifying new money or securities to a combination of only eligible accounts:
  • Eligible Accounts
    • Personal checking, savings and/or J.P. Morgan investment accounts (You Invest Brokerage and accounts opened in a Chase branch and serviced by a J.P. Morgan Private Client Advisor or Financial Advisor).
  • Ineligible Accounts
    • Any J.P. Morgan retirement accounts (such as Traditional and Roth IRAs, Keoghs, SEP and SIMPLE IRAs, and 401(k) plans); CDs; insurance products; fixed and variable annuities; J.P. Morgan Fund Accounts; 529 College Savings Plans.

Final Thoughts

If you are doing this offer simply for the bonus then you may want to wait for the larger offer to come back around. Although it looks like that may be next year some time.

If you were planning on getting a Sapphire bank account anyway then you might as well grab the $750.  For most people the $75,000 will be a non starter though.  If you were wondering what other bank bonuses are available here are the best ones for October.
