Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business Launching June 23rd

Chase today announced a major revamp for its Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card. That card, which is an Amex Platinum competitor, is getting lots of new benefits and the annual fee is jumping of $795.

Amex also has a business version of the Platinum card, so Chase is also going after those customers with the launch of the brand new Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business card. While Amex is already plotting its response, let’s look at the details of the new Chase business card which will launch on June 23, 2025.

Earning Points

The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business card will earn:

  • 8x points per dollar spent on Chase Travel purchases
  • 5x points per dollar spent on eligible Lyft rides (through Sept. 30, 2027)
  • 4x points per dollar spent on flights and hotels booked directly
  • 3x points per dollar spent on advertising purchases
  • 1x point per dollar spent on all other purchases

Other Benefits

  • Global Entry / TSA PreCheck / NEXUS fee credit up to $120 every four years
  • $500 annual The Edit hotel credit: $250 in credits from Jan 1 through Jun 30 and up to $250 from Jul 1 through Dec 31 each calendar year. Qualifying purchases are when you or an authorized user of the account use the card for pre-paid “Pay Now” stays of 2 nights or more.
  • Complimentary IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite Status through Dec. 31, 2027 (cardholders can earn IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite Status after $120,000 spend in a calendar year)
  • Complimentary access to every Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with up to two guests, plus access to 1,300+ Priority Pass airport lounges worldwide. Also get access to select Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Cafés in the U.S., Canada and Europe with an eligible boarding pass.
  • $300 annually in DoorDash benefits, including a 12-month DashPass membership (which must be activated by Dec. 31, 2027). That’s $25 a month: a $5 restaurant promo and two $10 promos toward grocery, beauty, electronics and other purchases.
  • Up to $10 monthly (up to $120 annually) Lyft in-app credits through Sept. 30, 2027.
  • Up to $400 ZipRecruiter credit: Receive a statement credit for purchases made directly with ZipRecruiter, split into biannual credits of up to $200 from January to June and up to $200 from July to December.
  • Up to $200 Google Workspace credit: Receive a statement credit for purchases made directly with Google Workspace for AI tools for business.
  • Up to $100 Giftcards.com credit: Earn up to $100 in statement credits (up to $50 from January through June and $50 from July through December) on gift card purchases made through giftcards.com/reservebusiness.
  • After spending $120,000 in a year, you get:
    • Southwest Rapid Rewards A-List status
    • $500 Southwest Airlines credit when booking through Chase Travel
    • IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite Status
    • $500 credit to use at the new The Shops at Chase

Annual Fee

The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business has an annual fee of $795. There’s no fee for Employee Cards, but they don’t get lounge access.

Conclusion

Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business has the same annual fee of $795 as the consumer version. There are also similarities when it comes to earning rates and benefits.

But there are also differences. When it comes to earning, the consumer card gets you 3x on dining, while the business version gets you 3x on online advertising.

The business card does not get the Apple, Peloton, Stubhub and Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables credits. Instead you get credits for ZipRecruiter, Google Workspace and Giftcards.com.

Overall the consumer card seems the better option to me, but that can vary based on your spending patterns. Let us know what you think!

  1. Beyond the sign-up bonus, this seems useless. Love the travel credit, so could see “buying” the points for $495 the first year and then cancelling. The Edit credit ruins what could have been a sweet spot with a two-night requirement. The DoorDash credit is absolutely ridiculous and worthless. A couple of others have minimal value. Can’t see this seriously competing with the Business Platinum or the Venture X.
