Chase Updates Terms for Back-to-Back The Edit Stays
Chase has added a new restriction to the Sapphire Reserve’s $500 annual The Edit hotel credit, closing off a potential workaround to trigger both $250 credits during one hotel stay.
This benefit provides two $250 statement credits each calendar year for prepaid bookings through The Edit, with each reservation requiring a minimum stay of two nights. Under the newly updated terms, back-to-back reservations at the same hotel will no longer count as separate stays if the second stay begins within 24 hours of checkout from the first. In that situation, only the first booking will qualify for the credit.
That means cardholders cannot book four consecutive nights as two separate two-night reservations at the same property and expect to receive both $250 credits. Chase will instead treat those reservations as one stay for purposes of the benefit. You can see the updated terms here.
The rest of the credit remains unchanged. Sapphire Reserve cardholders can still use the two $250 credits at any point during the calendar year, but they will need to be applied to two separate qualifying stays.
Through the end of 2026, cardholders can also combine The Edit benefit with the separate up to $250 hotel credit available for prepaid two-night stays at participating hotel brands, including IHG, Omni, Montage, Pendry, Virgin Hotels and others.
