Fly to Tokyo for $226 Round-Trip with American Airlines

American Airlines has some great fares available for travel to Tokyo from several airports in the United States. Prices start at just under $226 for round-trip fares. These great fares are showing up for departures from Pittsburgh, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, St. Louis and possibly more.

To find the best deals and dates that work for you, start your search on Google Flights. There’s lots of availability as of now between October 2021 and March 2022.

Here are some examples:

Let us know if you find any better prices on other dates, or any other airports that are showing similarly priced fares to Tokyo. Other airlines could start matching some of these prices, so don’t limit your search to just American Airlines.

Conclusion

These are great prices for paid fares to Tokyo. Just keep in mind that these are very long flights in Economy. Check out the dates and see if they work out for you.

But keep in mind that as of now, traveling to Japan is almost impossible. Travel for tourism and most other short-term purposes is still not permitted, and there is no indication that this will change in the short term. The Government of Japan makes no distinction between vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers in its COVID-related entry requirements. Hopefully that changes later this year.

  1. The $280 fare from St. Louis is for the regular economy. It’s only $200 for the “basic” economy fare. I assume the other cities are similar.

  2. We have been trying to get to Japan to see my wife’s sister who has stage four cancer since the pandemic began. It is not possible for us as American citizens to answer Japan. So what difference does it make if there are one dollar fares available. We are not allowed in.
