China Issues Travel Advisory for United States
We often see the US issuing travel advisories for countries around the world, but now Chinese nationals are being warned about travel to the US.
China had issued a travel advisory on the U.S. through the end of the year. The country’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism cited recent “frequent” shootings, robbery and theft as the reason for its alert, the official Xinhua News Agency said on Tuesday. It didn’t provide any statistics or further details.
The new advisory came just one day after China warned its students studying in the U.S. to be vigilant because of new restrictions on academic visas and intensified scrutiny of Chinese researchers working in America.
Even before this travel advisory, Chinese tourism to the U.S. had been falling. Three million Chinese tourists traveled to the U.S. in 2018, down from 3.2 million the previous year, Bloomberg reports. But Chinese citizens’ spending has been increasing year over year. They spent $36.4 billion in the United States in 2018, up from $35.3 billion the year before. They are the top ranked spenders of all international tourists.

I agree. There are some places in the US that there is a safety issue. To me, the chance of robbery is low but much higher than other places in the US.
In some areas, like rural Montana, you are a sitting duck if you have major head trauma. The nearest neurosurgeon may be hundreds of miles away.
