Citi has an offer for new checking accounts that can earn you as much as $1,000 in cash. This is a targeted offer sent out by email, which comes with a unique code.

The Offers

Here’s the four options:

• Citi Gold Account – Earn $1,000 when you make a minimum deposit of $200,000 within 30 days, and maintain that minimum balance for 60 days.
• Citi Priority Checking – Earn $600 when you make a minimum deposit of $50,000 within 30 days, and maintain that minimum balance for 60 days.
• Citibank Account – Earn $500 when you make a minimum deposit of $15,000 within 30 days, and maintain that minimum balance for 60 days.
• Basic Checking – Earn $200 when you make a minimum deposit of $5,000 within 30 days, and maintain that minimum balance for 60 days.

Purchases and first bill payment must be completed within 60 days.

Fees

• Citi Gold – To remain a Citigold client, maintain a minimum combined average monthly balance of $200,000 in eligible linked deposit, retirement and investment accounts. There is no monthly service fee for accounts in The Citigold Account Package.
• Citi Priority Checking – $30 monthly fee waived with a combined average monthly balance of $50,000+ in eligible linked deposit, retirement and investment accounts.
• Citibank Account – $25 monthly fee waived with a combined average monthly balance of $10,000+ in eligible linked deposit, retirement and investment accounts.
• Basic Checking – $12 monthly fee waived with one qualifying direct deposit and one qualifying bill payment per statement period OR maintain a $1,500+ combined average monthly balance in eligible linked accounts.

Conclusion

These are very good bonuses for checking account. The $500 bonus might be the best option when it comes to return on your investment. You need to keep the $15K in the account for about 4 months, so that would make it a 10% return. But the offer is targeted. If you don’t have a mailer, then check out this promotion for up to $700, which could be available in branches.
