Citi Prestige Cardholders Now Earn 5X on Online Purchases and More
Credit card issuers have been generous lately with several offers for extra cashback and rewards. Now Citi is giving extra ThankYou points for select purchases made with the Citi Prestige card.
Today, Citi announced a new offer for Citi Prestige cardmembers who can now receive 5 ThankYou Rewards points for every $1 spent on online, cable, and streaming purchases through the end of 2020. With this new offer, cardmembers have another opportunity to earn up to 7,500 points on the purchases they are already making for the holidays.
Online purchases are probably the easiest way to take advantage of this promotion. You would need to spend a total of $1,500 to maximize it and earn the 7,500 bonus points. Otherwise, eligible cable and streaming providers include more than 20 platforms, such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple Music, Disney+, ESPN+, HBO NOW, Netflix, SiriusXM, and Sling TV.
This offer is in addition to the 5 points per $1 spent on air travel and restaurant purchases that cardmembers already receive, including those made online, with the Citi Prestige card.
ThankYou Rewards points can be redeemed for a wide array of gift cards, as well as for everyday purchases made through the Pay with Points and Shop with Points programs. But the best use of points is to transfer them to travel partners. You can learn more about earning and redeeming ThankYou points here. And don’t forget that Citi DoubleCash rewards can also be transferred to ThankYou points.
Conclusion
If you already have the Citi Prestige card, this promotion gives you an opportunity to earn 7,500 extra points on purchases. Being able to use this promotion for online purchases is probably the easiest way to maximize it. And, you have until December 31 to complete your spending.

Huh? How did you find this out????? Is there a way to know if I am signed up for this without putting a charge on my card? I haven’t gotten any notification and I don’t see anything on my account page that shows this.
Are you sure this isn’t targeted? I’m not seeing any reference to it when I login on my own account
Just chatted with the Citi rep, and he not heard of it either
Just curious, is this something that Citi emailed current customers about or is it listed anywhere on Citi’s website?
Just cashed out via gift cards. Not the best rate but not traveling anymore and the travel partners aren’t helpful for my needs. Prefer the UR landscape.
Will be PC to the DC. Can’t justify the AF and the bonus categories just aren’t worth it.
If only it became a permanent benefit so I can PC the ATTAM card for the Rewards+ card.
I wonder if paying for college online will count as an online purchase, or if Plastiq payments count?
