Citi Cardholders, Earn 10x on Groceries, Gas and More

Citi is targeting cardholders with a new spending offer to earn 10x points on several categories. The offer is not very clear, but grocery and gas purchases are eligible, so should be easy to maximize. Let’s check the details of this Citi spending offer.

The Offer

Use your card to earn 10x ThankYou points per $1 spent, up to 2,500 points, through 8/31/2020, on eligible purchases like:

  • Shopping
  • Groceries
  • Gas and more

Key Terms

  • Must activate via link in targeted email
  • Valid for purchases through 8/31/2020
  • Restaurant, entertainment, cable and streaming purchases are explicitly excluded.

Conclusion

A nice offer, but limited to 2,500 points only. You can easily maximize it with a $250 purchase at grocery stores or gas stations. It’s not very clear what other purchases qualify. Make sure you activate the offer before purchasing.
