Citi ThankYou Preferred Offer

Citi ThankYou Preferred Offer, 15K Bonus After $1,000 Spend

Citi has a new offer for the Citi ThankYou Preferred card where you can earn 15,000 ThankYou points after you spend $1,000 in purchases with your card within 3 months of account opening. Although those numbers are nothing new, what makes this offer better is the fact that’s there’s no 24-month language on the offer page.

The Offer

Earn 15,000 bonus ThankYou® Points after you spend $1,000 in purchases with your card within 3 months of account opening. See offer page.

Card Benefits

  • No Annual Fee
  • Earn 2 ThankYou Points per dollar spent on dining out and entertainment
  • Earn 1 ThankYou Point per dollar spent on other purchases

Need to Know

  • People have had success getting bonuses with applications that do not have this language. There is no guarantee though that Citi will not try to restrict the bonus.
  • This may very well be an intentional link/application for Citi, but I wouldn’t expect it to last long given the expected popularity of such an offer.

Conclusion

There’s been better offers for this card in the past, but as mentioned above, the best part of this offer is that it doesn’t have the 24-month restriction. Citi changed the rules in August of last year, and since then you canb only get the bonus if you haven’t opened or closed a card of the same brand in the past 24 months. That has put big limitations on most people so these links with no 24-month language surely are a relief. Applying through these types of links has usually yielded positive results, but as always, it isn’t a sure thing.

A similar link surfaced for the AA Platinum card recently so if you applied for that card (more than once), you will probably have to wait.
