New Citi ThankYou Preferred Spending Offer

My wife received yet another Citi ThankYou Preferred spending offer.  These offers are one of the few perks of this card, it is often targeted for 5X earning opportunities.  And since it comes with no annual fee we have kept it open long term.

Details of the Offer

The offer details are as follows:

  • Earn 5X ThankYou points per $1 spent, up to 2,500 points, through 7/31/19 for the following purchases
    • Grocery Stores
    • Gas Stations
    • Drug Stores
    • Mass Transit & commuter Transportation Vendors

I believe people have said in the past this is in addition to the regular points you earn but I could be wrong there.  The offer came via regular postal mail.  Citi will often send out different offers to different people.

If you received an offer for any of your Citi cards let me know in the comments and I will add them to the article.

Conclusion

This is a great offer for some high spend areas.  When I wrap our Chase Freedom card’s 2nd quarter bonus (which has some overlap) I will move onto this card.  Grocery and gas are two of our biggest spending areas and also the easiest areas to max out.
