Delta CEO Threatens Rude Passengers with Lifetime Ban
Delta Air Lines plans to get tougher when it comes to unruly passengers. CEO Ed Bastian has announced that the carrier will permanently ban passengers who disrespect fellow customers or crew on Delta flights.
The information comes from a memo sent to employees Friday, and shared with Fox News. “Those who refuse to display basic civility to our people or their fellow travelers are not welcome on Delta,” Delta CEO Ed Bastian wrote in the memo. “Their actions will not be tolerated, and they will not have the privilege of flying our airline ever again.”
Bastian revealed that the airline has already added over 800 people to its no-fly list for refusing to wear mandatory face masks during travel, along with news of the company’s strict policy.
“As difficult as things are right now, remember that we are getting closer to recovery each day due to your hard work, dedication and commitment to our values,” he added. “Thank you as we keep climbing together into 2021.”
Some of the passengers that Delta has already banned include those who heckled two senators at airports during recent incidents that were captured on video.

“Those who refuse to display basic civility to our people or their fellow travelers are not welcome on Delta…”
That’s all travel is half the time, getting incivil treatment from others.
WAY WAY to open to malinterpretation and abuse. Who gets to decide? Who gets targeted?
Never mind, I know the answer to that already.
No DL for me.
Is there a way to ban rude FA’s for life? Just wondering as I know they are there primarily for our safety.
In other news – “Passengers threaten rude airline CEO’s with lifetime bans from their money.”.
Since we all can agree that frequently devaluing a frequent flyer program is pretty rude, Ed Bastian should be banned for life from flying Delta.
I have some objection to public air carriers, receiving government tax-payer money, banning people for frivolous reasons. Who is to say what constitutes a valid reason?
Recently in San Juan flying American Airlines. Gate agent asks to size my carry-on travelpro bag which does absolutely fit in a bag sizer with no single part protruding. Before I even attempt to put it in, he goes to his computer to print a tag (i.e. he did not care whether it fits or not). I argue with him and he claims that I have to squish it and this is a no go (I had to help a bit for the hard wheels to get in but I did not force it). Mind you, no single part was protruding from any of the contour lines.
I have an AA credit card that gives me the Group 5 which means that I never have to gate check bags. I never do because they loose them or stole in them all the time. I am rather pissed off at this jerk to be honest and I told him that it fits and this is not normal. Who is to say that next time he will consider this rude behavior and ban me for life.
There needs to be checks as to what public air carriers, receiving government bailout money, can do. We like to poke fun at the Trump guys trying to overtake the government in Viking horned hats and beaver furs, but let’s not be complacent about the elephant in the room here.
I hope this includes the idiots who have to record every single interaction on their cell phones. These people are very rude and inconsiderate of others privacy and should be booted.
That’s a good point. I just hope that the airlines don’t abuse their powers!
I’m sure there’s no reason to be concerned with a power tripping flight attendant and an exaggerated accusation. There’s no such thing as a power tripping FA is there? Time to dial back the heavy handedness.
