PayPal Digital Gifts via eBay still has quite a few of the gift card deals I mentioned the other day, however they have added one that I think may be interesting for some. Let’s take a look.

The Offer

  • Buy a $50 Uber Gift Card for only $45 – Limit 5

Analysis

This is a great way to save on Uber if you are paying full price now. Since the cards are sold by PayPal Digital Gifts, you can earn 5X Ultimate Rewards points by paying with a Chase Ink Cash or Ink Plus card through PayPal. That means you’ll save 10% plus earn greater rewards than if you used a travel rewards card such as the Sapphire Reserve. In other words you get great rewards and a savings!

Conclusion

I have been using Uber a lot lately and may pickup some of these cards given that I often pay full price. If you have never used Uber (I assume there may be someone out there) then you can get a free ride up to $20 by signing up through our referral link. Happy ridesharing!

  1. So many of the deals posted here aren’t worth the time and hassle -at least to me If a person took advantage of one every day of the year, how much would he make? Versus how much time?

    I suppose if you think of it as a hobby (or obsession) the calculus is different.

    I do appreciate the effort of putting these out there, though. Thank you.

  2. Good post – with Q1 freedom 5X coming up don’t need four but ill easily shoot through one on new years. Mind as well get 10% off and an extra 2X points.
