Discover Rewards Can’t Be Converted to Capital One Miles
As Capital One begins migrating Discover credit card accounts onto its platform, we are seeing that Discover rewards cannot be converted into transferable Capital One miles.
Migrated Discover it cardholders can see their cards and existing rewards balances alongside their Capital One accounts. However, Discover Cashback Bonus does not currently show the Combine Rewards option that normally allows Capital One cashback to be moved to a miles-earning card such as the Venture or Venture X.
The situation is slightly different for the Discover it Miles card. Frequent Miles reports that Discover miles are displayed together with their Capital One miles as a combined total balance. But still there’s no way to actually move or use those Discover miles as Capital One miles with airline and hotel transfer partners.
That means the migration has not (yet? 🤞🏼) created the ability many cardholders were hoping for, turning Discover’s cash back or miles into transferable Capital One rewards.
It’s also worth noting that the migration from Discover to Capital One is still ongoing, so not everyone will see their Discover cards under their Capital One login.
