Disneyland Helicopter Flyover

Disneyland, Walt Disney World and the four international Disney resorts are all closed. While some news was made this week by an analyst saying the parks won’t reopen until 2021, that seems unlikely. The evidence seems to suggest a reopening in the coming months, but everything is admittedly up in the air.

One thing there is no debate over is that Disney fans miss the happiest places on Earth. For me, there is no park more special than the original Disneyland in California. I grew up there and its combination of personal nostalgia, unique attractions and Walt’s personal touch are magic. And despite being lucky enough to have visited as recently as March 8, I miss it.

New Disneyland Helicopter Flyover Video Shows Empty Park

Thankfully a new Disneyland helicopter flyover video surfaced this week showing a low altitude pass over the famous theme park in Anaheim, CA. Why is this a rare thing? Well, Disneyland and Walt Disney World have no fly zones above them. Since 9/11 (and permanently implemented in 2003) it has been illegal to fly lower than 3,000 feet above the parks without special permission.

I’m glad to say Micah Muzio was able to get permission to do a quick Disneyland helicopter flyover at about 1,400 feet. He wasn’t allowed to circle or go back, so he only had one shot over Disneyland, but you can see a lot including the brand new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and more. He even replays the flyover in slow motion for the true Disney nerds out there! 🙂

More SoCal Theme Parks

The Disneyland helicopter flyover video above was born out of another video where Micah flew over the other Southern California theme parks including Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios Hollywood and Six Flags Magic Mountain. He was able to make multiple laps around those parks and capture their current state in great detail! If you like these videos he has some amazing Los Angeles flyovers as well.

Disneyland Helicopter Flyover – Bottom Line

I know theme park fans everywhere are looking for entertainment among the boredom of being shut in all of the time. As everyone who listen to the MtM Podcast knows, I love a good #aerialview & both these videos deliver on every level. Enjoy!
