eBay Bucks Program Will Be Axed on April 1
It has been a while since the eBay Bucks program provided any real excitement. Currently you only earn 1% on all purchases, and there are many limitations. Even the occasional offers that used to be give you up to 10% back, have recently been reduced to just 5%. And today, eBay has announced that it is axing the program altogether.
eBay sent out an email today to Bucks member announcing that it will scrap the 1% earning that you currently get for most eBay purchases. Here’s the text of the email:
Thank you for being a Bucks member, and a valuable part of our eBay community. We’re reaching out to tell you about upcoming changes to the eBay Bucks program.
After careful consideration, we’ve decided to retire the 1% earnings reward on everyday purchases starting April 1st, 2021.
The email goes to mention that you can still earn 5X on eBay purchases with the eBay Mastercard. This card also has a $50 signup bonus currently, when you apply by March 11 and spend $250 or more on eBay within 30 days of account opening. Click here to learn more.
Conclusion
The eBay Bucks program has lost its appeal for a while now. While it’s sad to see the 1% earning go, I’m sure most people will not lose any sleep over it. It will be interesting to see if eBay offers any similar promotions to the 5% eBay Bucks offers we have been getting over the last year or so.

[…] RIP eBay Bucks program. This has been sucking for a long time and not it is finally out of its misery by ending a long list of shut down programs. Good riddance! […]
It’s an april fools prank!
1% of shit, is shit
But it’s 1% more sh*t to spend on other sh*t.
Considering they are also forcing all sellers into Managed Payments, which so far is a DISASTER, they are also losing a LOT of sellers. The whole MP thing is a way to make more money off float and more fees as well. eBay is a train wreck technologically also.
The eBay Bucks thing is, as you say, not very interesting already, and now basically worthless. It’s all a mess and i think the last 2-3 batches of management have been all about squeezing buyers AND sellers.
I see this as one more step towards them falling apart eventually.
I am much happier with the managed payments than having to use paypal. At least now the buyer doesn’t have 30 days to file a complaint on ebay AND 6 months to file a complaint on paypal. Now there is only the one 30 day policy on ebay.
