Right now it is possible to combine a couple of eBay deals to save significant money (and possibly make money).
5% off eBay Gift Cards
Currently you can purchase $25 & $50 eBay gift cards for 5% off with a limit of 3. If you purchase 3 x $50 gift cards the cost will be $142.50.
The site says it can take up to 24 hours for the e-gift cards to come, but I received mine in about 30 minutes. After you receive the codes, they can still take another 2-4 hours to activate.
20% Off Sears Gift Cards
GiftCardMall is offering $100 Sears gift cards for $80 with a limit of 2.
Combine the deals
- Purchase 3 x $50 eBay gift cards for $142.50
- Purchase 2 x $100 Sears gift cards with your eBay gift cards + $10.
- Total Cost: $152.50
- Total Value: $200
- Discount%: 23.75%
You may also earn cashback through a portal and eBay bucks (on the Sears GCs), although with the purchase of gift cards this often doesn’t happen.
Possibility of Making Money
Some Sears stores sell $200 Visa gift cards for $206.95 which can be loaded to Bluebird/Serve. Many of my readers have had success purchasing these gift cards with Sears gift cards, although the policy varies by store. If you are able to purchase a Visa gift card the math looks like this:
- Cost of Sears Gift Cards: $152.50
- Cost of Visa fee: $6.95
- Total Cost: $159.45
- Total Profit: $40.55
Conclusion
This is a great way to earn a 23.5% discount at Sears or the possibility of making $40 in profit. The only caveat is that the Sears gift cards may sell out while you are waiting for the eBay gift cards to come. In that case, you will still be able to purchase anything else on eBay or hold them for another great deal, but that is something to be aware of. Of course you could always just buy the Sears gift cards for the straight 20% discount or $33.05 profit. Good luck!

Some in flyer talk reported that sears gift cards are not allowed to purchase other gift cards in some sears stores.
Correct. As mentioned in the post, the policy varies by store.
