Analysis
The bonus on this card comes in the form of 25,000 points. Points can be redeemed at 1 cent a piece for statement credit so that will give you a $250 sign-up bonus. There’s no travel partners, so you can use points to book flights or purchase are gift cards and merchandise, again at 1 cent a piece.
Besides the sign up bonus there’s a lot of extras here that we rarely see in a no-fee card. You get $100 in statement credits yearly for baggage, fees, airport lounge access, on-board food and beverage and more. This alone makes it a no-brainer to keep the card long term. You also receive $100 Global Entry Credit and no foreign transaction fees.
Conclusion
This card probably has some of the best perks for a no-fee card and it’s definitely worth it if you aren’t going after bigger bonuses on other cards. You’ll get $350-$450 value in total out of it in the first year and then a yearly $100 in statement credits after that.

No pre-approvals, never had any relationship with FNBO, and decided to apply on 5/29.
Today I got a call in the morning asking me to answer 4 questions pulled from my Credit Report. Within 3-4 hours after the call, I then checked my Application Status online and I got approved and the Card will be mailed in 7-10 days.
I was 10/24 when they pulled my Experian report on 5/29 (at time of application).
Congrats and thanks for sharing!
Does this count towards the limit of the number of Amex cards you can have?
No, it’s an Amex branded card an not issued directly by Amex themselves so it will NOT count towards the limit.
Does anyone know if there is instant approval? This is the page I got: Your TravElite American Express® Card Application has been submitted. You should receive written status of your application within 2-4 weeks. – I am guessing that it is not the best news 🙂
Few DPs that I saw showed the same thing. Check if they pulled your credit report or check app status here https://www.firstnational.com/ConsumerWeb/default/cardservices/application-status/show-form
Thanks for the link – I had seen it elsewhere on DoC and I was approved the same day I applied if the status is to be believed 🙂
FNBO doesn’t do automatic computerized credit decisions. Every application requires a human underwriter. Since every blog has had a post about this card in the past three days, I imagine their underwriters are overwhelmed with applications. Give it a few days, this doesn’t mean it’s denied.
