Enter to Win Free Round-Trip to Work Remotely from Hawaii!
As more people work from home during the pandemic, we have seen several hotel chains offer work-from-home deals. Now there’s a chance to win a free round-trip to Hawaii to work from there instead, for a whole month.
The program, Movers & Shakas, is open to 50 lucky people who are already employed and want to find the perfect work/life balance. It’s available for all U.S. citizens 18 years or older who currently live in the country. Winning applicants must agree to move within one month of being selected.
If this is something you can, and want to do, you can apply online by Dec. 15. Winning applicants are required to stay for a month, but will be responsible for arranging their own accommodations. They will also be required to volunteer for a few hours each week with a nonprofit organization that fits their skills.
Since October, Hawaii has allowed visitors to skip the islands’ mandatory quarantine if they show a negative COVID-19 test taken at a certified laboratory within 72 hours of their trip. But, the island of Kauai will opt out of the testing program and require a mandatory two week quarantine for visitors.

OK so forget the COVID drama, more importantly consider the SEVERE income TAX BURDEN Hawaii offers. Not to mention cost of living. You gonna ship your car there? No Pets, etc. Solid PASS.
Of course its not for everyone. Im not sure how its a tax burden? Should be a tax incentive of its a business trip its makes everything tax deductable. I would not recommend shipping a car for just a 30 day stay but when you stay downtown you dont really need a car everything is walking distance but if you want to explore the island there are many alternate transportation options (monthly bus pass, ride & bike shares, cheaper off airport monthly rental cars, etc..) Also its funny to hear people say you cant take pets to Hawaii thats very false. Its actually very easy of you just need to read and plan ahead so your pet has same day release. If you dont read the rules and jump on a plane with your pet then yes your pet will be stuck in quarantine. I travel in & out of Hawaii many times a year with a pet and never had any problems nor has my pet had to spend a single overnight in quarantine. I have traveled with a pet to many international locations as well and just like coming to Hawaii they all have different requirements you must research each location to ensure you know the requirements and plan ahead.
Some recent updates (as of 24 Nov) to Hawaii quarantine rules, you MUST have negative results prior to arrival. Those without test results before arrival will still need to quarantine for 14 days regardless of results received after arrival, in addition those traveling to Big Island (Hawaii county) will also need a 2nd test upon arrival.
