Get 3 Free Nights with Chase Marriott Referral offer

Last week, Doctor of Credit reported an interesting Marriott bonus available through current cardholder referrals. Chase sent Marriott Premier Rewards Plus cardholders an offer to earn 20k Marriott points for each approved referral. Interestingly, rather than the 75K bonus offer available publicly on the Chase site, the sign up bonus for anyone applying through the referral is 3 Free nights up to 35K points after spending $3,000 within the first 3 months of card membership.  Earlier this week we covered the changes coming to all of the Marriott branded credit cards.

The Offer

If you apply through the referral link you can get the following bonus:

3 Free Night Awards for properties capped at 35K points per night after you spend $3,000 on eligible purchases with your new card within the first 3 months.

Eligibility

Keep in mind that this card is subject to Chase’s 5/24 and those do not qualify for the bonus if  they’re current cardmembers of the Marriott Rewards Premier or Marriott Rewards Premier Plus credit card, or previous cardmembers of the Marriott Rewards Premier or Marriott Rewards Premier Plus credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 24 months.

Additionally you may not receive the bonus if you’re

  • a current cardmember, or were a previous cardmember within the last 30 days, of The Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express;
  • are a current or previous cardmember of either The Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express or the Starwood Preferred Guest® American Express Luxury Card, and received a new cardmember bonus or upgrade bonus in the last 24 months; or
  • applied and were approved for The Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express or the Starwood Preferred Guest® American Express Luxury Card within the last 90 days.

Conclusion

If you’re someone who uses your points for quantity at the lower category hotels, this is not a great deal for you. However, there are plenty of options across most of the brands at 35K and that will likely go further than the current 75K public offer for most of you. If you’re interested and don’t know anyone with the card, here’s my referral link.

  1. Do you know if the 3 free night awards have to be used in a year or as long as account is open you can use them when you want, similar to points earned?
