Groupon's Awesome $25 Off 2 Deals

Stacking Groupon’s Awesome $25 Off 2 Deals Offer (Targeted?)

I woke up to a pretty interesting email from Groupon this morning.  This is one of the better offers I have seen from them, at least in quite a while.  They were offering me $25 off a future deal if I bought 2 Groupon that are $25 or more together.  With some stacking I am going to be getting a lot of Groupon goodies at a dirt cheap price!

Offer Terms

  • Buy 2, get $25 off your next deal.
    • Just spend $25+ buying the same deal twice, or trying two new experiences!
      • Only deals found at groupon.com/buy-it-again qualify.
      • Must purchase two qualifying deals with a minimum combined purchase price of $25 between 6/1/21-6/14/21.
      • Promo codes will be emailed on or about 6/18/21.
      • Offer Expires 7/2/21
      • Promo code is limited to 1 order per customer

Stacking Deals

Since it is the first of the month my Amex Platinum PayPal credit just reset (handy dandy Amex credit spreadsheet). That means I could get this deal essentially free.  I also went through TopCashback for the purchase which is showing an 8%-10% earning for Groupon.  I could have shot to keep the total cost as close to $30 as possible but I bought something a little more expensive that we use often.  Here is how my stacking math broke down.

  • Purchase 2 Groupon at $30 each = $60
  • Paid with Amex Platinum via PayPal for $30 credit = -$30
  • Used TopCashback for 8% more back = -$4.80
  • Should get a $25 discount code from Groupon in a few weeks for the purchase = -$25

I will probably use the code to purchase another one of the Groupon I just purchased so that brings the total to $90.  After subtracting the $30 PayPal credit, the $25 Groupon credit and $4.80 in shopping portal credit I saved $59.80.  Or I was able to buy 1 get 2 free essentially. That is a satisfying stack right there!

When you throw in the fact that these give me $50 in value each then you are really talking about a good deal.  Anytime you can get $150 in rides or arcade play for $30.20 out of pocket I am a happy camper!

Final Thoughts

Hopefully this isn’t super targeted and many of you are able to get the offer.  Remember to use a cashback portal to add a little more savings to this offer. The nice thing about these Amex Platinum PayPal credits is you still earn the full amount through portals since the credit comes off your card versus during the PayPal purchase.  I have enjoyed that extra little boost, it is the small things in life after all!

  1. There are always a huge number of Groupon deals in my region (Tampa Bay area), but the only ones listed eligible for this promo at groupon.com/buy-it-again are tarot card readings, psychics, and urinalysis testing, none of which I’ve purchased before and have no desire to begin. I looked at other cities and the selection looks similar.
