Hilton Wasn’t Ready
Earlier today I wrote a post highlighting a number of loyalty program bonuses. In the post I mentioned a 1,000 point bonus that Hilton is offering members for changing their HHonors account password. Unfortunately, it seems something went wrong with that bonus. This afternoon Hilton contacted me so I could tell readers that their systems weren’t quite ready to handle the promotion.
Specifically they said, “This change has not taken effect yet due to a technical issue on our end, so please tell your readers to hold on changing your password for right now.”
I followed up about what will happen with users who have already changed their password, but they were unable to give an answer. My guess is you will have to change it again once they get the promotion active in their system.
My account was still setup under the old pin system, so I actually changed my password this morning in order to get the bonus. In other words, I am in the same boat as you!
The Hilton rep did tell me that she would try to get an answer as to whether people will have to change their password again. I promise to let you know something as soon as I do. In the mean time, hold off on changing your password or know if you do, they aren’t quite ready to give the bonus.
